The eyelets are applied on the rims from a very long time and give reliability and quality to the product. The application of the eyelet guaranties an even distribution of the force applied by the nipples on a bigger surface of the rim. Moreover the eyelet permits that the nipple adapts diagonally to the traction angle of the spoke up to 8° avoiding the bending of the spoke. The limit of the eyelet is the application, indeed it can be inserted only on flat surfaces. Today thanks to the new technology developed by Gipiemme the eyelets are submitted to hydro-formation before appliance, permitting the application on curved surfaces. The hydro-formed eyelet allows an exit angle of the spoke up to 15°ensuring a higher stability of the wheel.
